Polaroid Rebranding Concept

A Polaroid logo, surrounded by various Polaroid pictures

Client: CCT204 – Design Thinking (Rebrand Project)

I, like many others, associate the name “Polaroid” with instant photographs. After all, they were the company the popularized the technology and shaped the field of photography into what it is today. When we were asked to create a rebrand with style guidelines for the University of Toronto course “Design Thinking” (CCT204), I created a concept for a Polaroid rebrand. This rebrand was meant to evoke all the previously-mentioned values: Polaroid’s storied history, its association with physical, instant photos, and the creative culture surrounding Polaroids today.

Since this project, it has been used as an exemplar for future students, highlighting this rebrand’s effectiveness in evoking its brand values.
